SFCTA administers tax revenue to fund essential traffic and transportation projects within the City and County of San Francisco, as well as local projects affecting a benefitting San Francisco. SFCTA oversees all of the projects and programs in the proposition K Expenditure Plan, which comprises projects in which the Authority acts as the project manager and administrator, as well as local projects under its jurisdiction for which the Authority provides oversight and funding. SFCTA, being also a congestion management agency, administers state funding according to SB 45 for a variety of types of projects in different phases of delivery. The projects encompass all modes of transportation and require specialized expertise in several areas, including bus rapid transit (BRT), rail, highways, and bridges, transit facilities, and bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
VSCE’s capabilities while on this project consisted of assisting with oversight, support and administration of the CMA, TFCA, Prop AA, program, projects and funding and the delivery and support of multiple transportation projects. VSCE was integrally involved in managing all of the phases of the project that comprised of planning, bidding, construction and design. While providing cost analysis and Quality Assurance programs, VSCE also developed project budgets along with providing recommendations for alternative courses of action as appropriate. Throughout this project, VSCE prepared and reviewed reports as well as coordinated with project stakeholders.
