VSCE has provided as needed construction engineering and construction office engineering services to Caltrans District 6. Our staff has provided construction inspection of a $60 million freeway widening project and intersection project. Project includes multiple phases and staged construction; earthwork, drainage system, roadway excavation and pavement structural section with both asphalt and cement concrete pavements. Project also included night work and traffic controls, street lighting, overhead signs, pavement delineations, MSE walls, bridge widening, and Metal Beam Guardrails.

Duties included, but are not limited to the following:
Assisting in the analysis of CPM updates regarding documents and change order
Construction Inspection to verify compliance with project plans and Caltrans Standards
Checking construction stakes and verifying grades
Interpreting Plans and resolving field issues
Preparing and Reviewing item quantities
Scheduling and coordination of material testing
Writing field memos to the Contractor
Prepare monthly progress estimate quantities
Preparing daily dairies
Review Contractor’s change order estimates and entitlement
Provide Technical Support
SWPPP inspection
Assist in analyzing change orders
Review potential claims
Project photographs
Review labor compliance
Perform Construction Engineering work
Review material testing reports and verify retesting for every non-compliance
